Mr. Sandbag

My deepest condolence goes out to SGT Sachs' family. I had the opportunity to serve with him when I was stationed in Wiesbaden, Germany and during deployment to Iraq. I remember Chris as, “Mr. Practical Joke Guy”. He really knew how to have a great time and make lots of people laugh.

I remember one day I was getting off a 12hour shift in Iraq. It was April 1st 2004. I was tired and began to walk to my room. When I arrive, I noticed in front of my door was barricaded with sand bags and small pieces of stone walkways stacked from top to bottom. I couldn’t help but to laugh hysterically. Even though I was exhausted, I had such a wonderful day that day. He was full of endless stories and a very knowledgeable gentleman. I feel honored to have had a chance to meet him. Chris, if you can hear me
